Frequently Asked Questions

It all depdends on how many guests there are, how long the event will be, what is needed at the event, the status of teh event, meaning is it a high-profile, VIP guest event, or a community leader event. Typically, an event takes 4-6 weeks too plan and execute. Coordination of staff on the day, the management on the floor or grounds means the the event will be successful and run without a hitch, provided it is supported by the right digital and electronic services and expertise.

Yes, we have our own staff photographers and we can outsource photographers, specializing in event photography, and they can offer social media, live streaming of the event too.

This depends on the venue you stipulate, the nature of the event and how long, but generally speaking, we can cater for up to 4 000 people, and we can outsource marquees, chefs, and the necessary seating and tables.

Again, this depends upon the nature of the event. Should media coverage be required, and a build up to the event with PR, then

These services are most certainly included. We need a full brief from our client, and from there we work out lead times and releases, access the PR releases through your or our writers, and we manage this as well. It is also something the client can run as an independent fucntion, but we would need to be informed of the messages and time lines.

A full report is always a part of our services, and we give a community impact report.

The obvious answer is "as much time as is possible", but in reality, the best planning is to allow for the event to be structured to meet it's purposes and goals, and we work back to get everything done, without cutting corners. Essentially, we need to know when is the best time for the event to take place - fitting the social calendar - then work around that as the stable component. Aligning all the staff, event design components, and so on gives us a pretty good idea of times required to pull it off. Doing it 'too little too late' almost always creates an imperfect event and is to be avoided or not even started as a project. The reasons are obvious.

A social and labour plan (SLP) is a document that mining companies are required to submit to the Department of Mineral Resources as part of their applications for mining rights. It is basically a collection of promises the mine makes which become legal commitments once the application is approved by the DMR. The SLP sets out both what the company will do for communities and workers and how and when the company will do this.

LEC Events can also, where necessary, render purely Community Event Advisory Services on behalf of the mining client. We have connections and contacts into the communities themselves and understand the needs and requirements to pull a successful event off.

A very good question. It is our understanding and experience of the cultures, the communities and the interaction thereof. Knowing and giving the events 'for the people' so that the client (mining house) is seen and perceived in a good light of understanding. Engaging with the stakeholders in the project, facilitating the local community workers, training and leaving skills and abilities for future use, empowers the community.
